Travel Pack - First Meeting - Notes

In my first meeting with Amy, we discussed our initial ideas and thoughts about a collaborative travel pack project. We thought about the different content which would be placed inside the pack. We also researched into Air bnb to help define what type of company/ organisation we wanted to pitch ourselves as.

Amy had sourced Ferment - a magazine focusing on the global craft alcohol movement. We particularly liked this magazine due to its editorial uniqueness. Based on this example, we began thinking about different potential sizes for our own magazine.

As a company, we wanted to offer a stress-free, no-hassle process where users could receive this pack as a travel guide, but also as a form of souvenir.

We decided to create our magazine based on the shape and format used for Ferment Magazine.
Our magazine was to be:
- 30cm x17cm in size
-16 pages
- Portrait

The magazine was going to function as a quarterly magazine, which would be sent out as part of the booking confirmation for our customers. The content would  catered to the best opportunities, events and cultural means on depending on the season.

As additional content for our travel pack, we wanted to design the following:
-postcards - 15cm x17cm
-Luggage tags - 15cm x 18cm
-Letterhead - 30cm x 17cm (same size as magazine)

Our plan for the branding was to come up with
-name
-logo
-icon
-identity
-philosophy about the company
-mission statement

Initially we agreed on the pantone swatch #060100 - a warm shade of orange as our main colour for the brand. This would be incorporated into all elements of our brand, even possibly the logo. The orange would mainly be accompanied with black but sometimes white depending on the placement of the branding where the readability could be lost. Our stock was to be brown and cream.

Our potential fonts of interest at this point were:
-Pier Sans
-Aqua Grotesque
-Adam CG Pro
